How to Export
Your Child's Data

Choose the platforms your child uses. We'll walk you through exporting their data step by step—no passwords, no app installations, no technical knowledge needed.

TikTok

TikTok's For You feed is one of the most personalized feeds in existence. Every pause, replay, and skip teaches it what to show next—and patterns narrow quickly over time.

How to Export Your Data

Step 1: Open TikTok Settings
Open TikTok on your child's device. Tap the profile icon in the bottom right, then the menu icon (three lines) in the top right. Select "Settings and privacy."

Step 2: Request Your Data
Scroll to "Account" and tap "Download your data." Select "Request data" and choose your format. We recommend JSON for faster processing.

Step 3: Select What to Include
Choose which categories to include. Focus on viewed content, interactions, searches, and followed accounts. Private messages are not required. A more complete export gives Wolense a clearer picture of the patterns.

Step 4: Wait for the Email
TikTok will send a download link to the account's registered email within 2 to 4 days.

Step 5: Download the File
Open the email and click the download link.
Save the data file to your device.
Instagram

Instagram's Reels, Explore, and Stories all shape what your child keeps seeing. Accounts and themes that get engagement are shown more—reinforcing what looks normal.

How to Export Your Data

Step 1: Open Instagram Settings
Open Instagram on your child's device. Tap the profile icon, then the menu icon (three lines).

Step 2: Request a Download
Tap "Accounts Center" at the top. Select "Your information and permissions," then "Export your information." Tap "Create export," then "Export to device."

Step 3: Select What to Include
You'll be directed to the "Confirm your export" page. Choose your date range and select which categories to include. Focus on viewed content, interactions, searches, and followed accounts. Private messages are not required. The more feed and engagement data you include, the clearer the patterns Wolense can identify.

Step 4: Choose Format and Request
Set the format to "JSON" and media quality to "Higher quality." Tap "Start export."
Step 5: Wait for the Download
Instagram typically takes 24 to 48 hours to prepare the file. You'll receive an email after.
YouTube

YouTube's recommendations are built to keep sessions going. Each video leads to the next, building creator familiarity and reinforcing themes gradually across weeks and months.

How to Export Your Data

Step 1: Go to Google Takeout
On a computer or mobile browser, go to takeout.google.com. Make sure you're signed into the Google account linked to your child's activity.

Step 2: Select YouTube Only
Click "Deselect all" at the top of the page. Scroll down and check only "YouTube and YouTube Music." This export captures viewing history, search activity, and engagement signals. A complete export ensures accurate visibility into the recommendations shaping their feed.

Step 3: Choose Delivery Settings
Click "Next step." Select "Send download link via email," then "Export once." Choose ZIP file type.

Step 4: Create the Export
Click "Create export." Google typically takes 2 to 8 hours to prepare the file, depending on the size.

Step 5: Download the Archive
You'll receive an email with a download link when it's ready. Big exports may come in multiple files.
Snapchat

While messages disappear on Snapchat, the Discover feed is algorithmically curated and persistent. Social patterns can form quietly, away from what parents typically see.

How to Export Your Data

Step 1: Open Snapchat Settings
Open Snapchat on your child's device. Tap the profile icon in the top left, then the settings gear in the top right.

Step 2: Access My Data
Scroll to "App & privacy" and select "My privacy & data." Under "Manage My Data," tap "My Data." Focus on viewed content, interactions, and search activity. Private messages are not required. A more complete export gives Wolense more to work with when building your brief.

Step 3: Choose a Timeframe
Select your preferred timeframe and confirm the email address for the export. Tap "Submit."

Step 4: Wait for the Email
Snapchat typically takes around 24 hours to prepare the file. You'll receive a download link at the account's email.

Step 5: Download the File
Open the email and download the .zip file.
Facebook

Facebook's feed learns quickly what keeps your child engaged. Over time, it amplifies the content, groups, and perspectives that hold their attention, surfacing more of the same.

How to Export Your Data

Step 1: Open Facebook Settings
Open Facebook on your child's device — app or browser. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines). Scroll down and select "Settings & privacy," then "Settings."

Step 2: Go to Download Your Information
Scroll to "Your information" and select "Download your information" to open Facebook's data download tool.

Step 3: Select Date Range and Format
Choose your date range. Set the format to "JSON" and media quality to "High." Focus on viewed content, interactions, searches, and followed accounts. Private messages are not required. A more complete export gives Wolense a clearer view of what's been shaping their feed.

Step 4: Create the File
Select "Create file." Processing time ranges from a few minutes to up to 48 hours depending on account size.

Step 5: Download the File
Facebook will notify you by notification and email when it's ready. Return to "Download your information" to download the .zip archive.
